telehealth services

Telehealth is technology used to monitor physiological conditions of patients remotely, using equipment and systems in the home.   Astraline is currently working with partners to help develop systems that will enable people to be educated in the management and monitoring of long term medical conditions such as Heart Failure, Diabetes and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).   Telehealth can also aid in the education of the clients through video conferencing equipment, or television set top boxes.   We are using the most modern platforms to monitor Telehealth equipment and will be able to offer both technical and clinical triage methodologies.   It also assists compliance with government targets to introduce telemedicine and help reduce bed blocking.   The benefits of Telehealth equipment include:

  • Reduction in visits to outpatient departments for routine checks.
  • Readings are taken in the comfort of the patients’ home.
  • Reduction in hospital costs by facilitating the early discharge of patients.
  • Reduces bed blocking.
  • Focused visits by district nursing staff to those clients who are in more need of face to face contact.
  • Nursing staff are alerted more quickly to patients whose readings have breached parameter settings.
  • Reassurance and guidance can be given to patients more quickly over the phone.
  • Improves quality of life for the patient.
Please contact Astraline for more information on this service.
