Due to changes with one of our Supporting People Contracts residents where given the choice of having the service moved over to another service that was free of charge, or paying for the service they already get and also contributing to keeping their member of staff, comments from residents went along the line of “Why change to another service when there is nothing wrong with the one we have” “If its not broke don’t change it” “We know the people on the other end and are used to it so lets not change”

I had raised an issue with Lone working with my Operations Director, she instructed me to find a system that would suit our needs. After visiting Astraline at the EH&S expo in Birmingham, we found their product was just what we were looking for. We tested the system for a month with some excellent feedback, from our field service engineers on how simple the system is to use. We feel this provides security for engineers, a backup system whilst on site, as our engineers can find themselves left alone at any period within 24 hours – Our service engineers used it during both day and night shifts.

One of our Kitchen suppression service engineers stated that: “It is an alert and response system, which is simple to use, does not create a huge difference to your working practices but it is always there in the background.”

Chubb Fire Mechanical has now introduced Astraline’s Lone working text system to all its field service engineers.

St Vincent’s has been using Astraline for approximately the last 3 years. Astraline offers our lone workers the peace of mind and security that when out and about someone knows where they are and that an alarm will be raised very quickly if they miss their log off time. Some staff can be away from the office for a few days and it is essential there is a system in place to ensure their safety and individuals need confidence in their back up system to carry out an often challenging frontline role.

Staff at Astraline are always professional and responsive, when we have received an activation, staff work with us to re-establish contact with our lone workers. In addition we wanted a system that was user friendly and easy to monitor, as well as quick and straight forward for adding and removing users as we are a constantly changing organisation. This system offered us such a solution with the added benefit of offering good value for money.

Astraline Lone Worker monitoring system is extremely user friendly and has assisted our organisation to ensure the health and safety of staff working with challenging clients. The system requires minimal staff time and resources and is effective in alerting managers to the possibility of a worker being in danger.
