Astraline and Thoughts Become Things announce new partnership

National technology-enabled care services provider Astraline and care consultancy Thoughts Become Things, have joined forces to strengthen the services care providers offer in the UK.

This new partnership is putting technology at the heart of care provision, to bring services to more people who need support.

According to statistics from the Centre for Ageing Better, there are approximately 12 million people aged 65 and over in the UK, which equates for around 20% of the population, and it is estimated that by 2036 one in four will be over 65.

As the number of people aged 65 and over increases, so too does the proportion of the population with long-term health conditions, disability and mobility impairments; placing increased demand on the care sector.

Thoughts Become Things are a forward-thinking care consultancy, working with leading home care providers in the UK to enable them to attract private clients. They sought assistance from Astraline, to support their clients to deliver a technology driven solution.

Seeking innovative, cost-effective solutions, Astraline introduced a range of technology that enables customers to receive 24-hour care should they need it; including personal alarms and activity and passive monitoring sensors, among other smart-tech offerings.

Sue Jones, CEO at Thoughts Become Things, said: “I am passionate about making communities better. We support care businesses to consider how they can improve their services to cater for different needs but also to encourage inclusivity within communities. Our new partnership with Astraline has supported many of the care businesses we work with to monitor and maintain the health and wellbeing of their clients. This means more people are able to support themselves within their homes and have the confidence to go about their day.”

Technology-enabled care is often a life-critical service, and research has shown that these services can reduce hospital admissions and discharges, and prevent, or potentially delay, a move into residential care.

Cheryl White, CEO at Apollo Care, a client of Thoughts Become Things, said: “For a while I have been looking for a company who could help Apollo Care advance their care services with technology.  Something that supported the client and their families in a non-invasive way but brought total peace of mind. Astraline has helped us to achieve this. The price is excellent and the support to the teams has been first class. When considering choice, this is a must for any care provider.”

Astraline currently supports over 100 organisations in the UK, with 24-hour monitoring services, and they are proud to partner with Thoughts Become Things.

Lisa Brumwell, Operations Director at Astraline, said: “We are working to encourage and adopt a more positive view about ageing and move away from outdated stereotypes. We want to move the conversation about older people from vulnerable to valuable. Investing in technology-enabled care, will mean care providers can offer a better-quality service that supports customers to live independently. We are proud to be in partnership with Thoughts Become Things, to support the delivery of technology-enabled care solutions. Our services can be personalised to better fit with an individual’s personal circumstances and enable management teams to deliver efficient care and support.”
